We firmly believe that if more people knew about After Umbrage and the good work we do, we would have the support we need to expand our operations and bring help to the members of communities all over the UK who work so hard to care for those they love in their final days. If you would like to help, one of the best ways is to let others know about us and the good work that we do. Please like and share our social media pages.
We rely on your generous donations to fund our work providing needed breaks to carers. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated, and help those who are all too often overlooked. You can donate directly to After Umbrage, and we urge you to consider renting beautiful Kingham Cottage for your own holiday. We reserve it for private rentals for up to three months each year, and the proceeds go directly to the After Umbrage charity. You’ll not only have a marvellous holiday, but know you’ll be giving an opportunity for a much needed rest to some very deserving people as well.

Kingham Cottage is a detached, beautifully converted, former farm building with a superb interior, offering great charm and original character. Beams, stained glass windows, oak floors, oak window seats and original exposed stonework are all features in this delightful stone cottage. There is plenty to do just on your doorstep. There are plenty of fabulous walks in the area, and Bath itself is just five minutes away, a World Heritage site with wonderful attractions to suit any taste.
After Umbrage provides short term holiday accommodation free of charge to those caring for loved ones with a life limiting condition. We would also like to express our deepest condolences by offering breaks to carers within their first 12 months of bereavement.
If you are a Carer and need a bit of a break, we would like to invite you to stay for up to four nights, completely free of charge. You deserve it, and more importantly you need it to keep providing the care that you do. We are honoured to offer you the chance to do just that.
If you would like to know more about The After Umbrage Charity please take a look at www.afterumbrage.org.uk. Proceed to the end of the tree lined avenue and turn right at the ‘t’ junction. After approximately 250m there is a left turning into Summer Lane. Continue down the hill (pass the primary school on your left and after 300m you will arrive at Kingham cottage). There is a private lay-by for parking your car immediately outside the cottage.
